An easy-to-understand guide to the Finance & Accounting section. Learn how it tracks tuition revenue, unpaid invoices, and tutor pay settlements automatically.
1. What is the Finance Section?
Admin Portal → Sidebar: Finance
The Finance section tracks your school's income, expenses, unpaid dues, and tutor payouts automatically—eliminating the need for separate accounting spreadsheets.
- Sidebar Navigation: In the left sidebar, click Finance to expand financial views (Dashboard, Invoices, Settlements, Ledger).
- Dashboard Overview: High-level financial totals, total revenue, and outstanding balances.
- Master Ledger: Chronological search and filter view for all payment receipts and invoices.
- Tutor Settlements: Tracks earned pay per completed class and logs tutor pay settlements.
- Accounting Reports: Automatically generates Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
2. Automated Financial Tracking
Background Automation Rules
As daily classes are taught and payments are recorded, financial entries generate in the background:
- Income Automation: Enrolling a student generates the billing invoice. Marking a class complete records earned income. Recording a payment updates cash accounts.
- Expense Automation: When a tutor completes a class session, their pay rate logs as a payroll expense. Logging a payout settlement updates tutor account ledgers.
3. Accounting Principles & Audit Trails
Accounting Audit Rules
To maintain accounting integrity, transaction logs cannot be un-audited or deleted. Corrective entries (voiding an invoice or adding a credit entry) balance out mistakes seamlessly.
